Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation which also promotes physical and emotional healing. It is based on the principle that the practitioner can channel “spiritually guided life force energy” (Reiki) into the client by means of light touch or hovering the hands just above the body, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being. Reiki is an ancient healing technique, rediscovered in the mid 1800’s by a Japanese born Buddhist monk, Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki is said to be what Jesus used in the “laying of the hands”, and may have originally come from Buddha. Crystals, sound healing, and essential oils may be used to complement and enhance Reiki sessions.
You will be assessed in a variety of yoga postures to help determine imbalances in the body such as which muscles may be short, tight, weak, and under or over-compensating. From this assessment you will be given an individualized yoga sequence to practice at home, in a private yoga session, or during your group classes.
Gong Sound Therapy
For centuries, the gong has been used for healing. The sound and vibration created by the gong has been shown to help back and neck pain, migraine headaches, chronic pain and insomnia. The gong can also help settle anxiety, manage symptoms of stress and contribute to a greater sense of balance.
Beth uses a Paiste planetary gong in her gong therapy sessions. Often referred to as a gong bath (no water involved and you're fully clothed!), the sound and vibration wash over and through, as you sit or lie down on a table, aerial swing, floor or chair.
A typical gong session may include some gentle relaxation movement or breath work, a guided meditation, Reiki, or simply gong. Some private yoga students opt for a longer Savasana with the gong.
First time gong clients will usually be exposed to the sound of the gong for 20-30 minutes. Gong sessions can expand to 40-45 minutes of sound therapy.
Private Mat or Chair Yoga Lessons
Private sessions available for individuals or groups of 2-20.
There are a lot of different reasons that people prefer private lessons to group lessons. It may be a level of comfort, the ability to meet your exact needs on the mat from day to day or the flexibility to fit practice time in when it works best for you.
It may be a single lesson or two to work on a specific yoga pose or ongoing sessions. Some people like to start with a few private sessions before joining group classes.
When you reserve a private yoga lesson, everything from the music to the lighting to the pace and style of yoga is selected just for you. The longer we practice together, the more personalized those sessions begin to feel.
Private Aerial Yoga Lessons
Private sessions available for individuals or groups of 2-10.
